>> Nicole: I'm Nicole Lee, Associate Editor for CNET.com and this is a first look at the Griffin SmartTalk Bluetooth headset. Griffin is traditionally known for their iPod and iPhone accessories but this is their first ever Bluetooth headset made for the iPhone. It is also compatible with other Bluetooth enabled phones as well so you don't have to use the iPhone if you want to use this Bluetooth headset. As you can see here's a very simple black slender headset sort of in the style of Apple's own Bluetooth headset, it's a very simple multi-function button on the front here it also works as the call button, the power on/off switch button. On the back is a very simple earbud, there's also a spot for an optional earloop if you want, it sits pretty comfortably in the ear so you don't really need the ear-hook but it's good to have if you want additional stability. Overall I like the design, the comfort is very good it has a very comfortable ear-gel cushion here so it fits very comfortably inside the ear. Now you can imagine wearing this for a long periods of time. The Smart Talk also has dual mic and noise cancellation, one up top here and one on the bottom here to cancel out background noise for better voice quality. Overall we like the Griffin SmartTalk Bluetooth headset but we think the call quality could be improved. It did a good job in canceling out background noise but it didn't do a good job at canceling out echoes and we also experienced some static occasionally, some crackling noises occasionally so it wasn't the best sound quality but for $100 it's not too bad we just wish it was a little bit better.
