-It's Thursday, March 31st. I'm Natali Morris and it's time to get loaded. We have a lot of Google news today and an announcement about me at the end of the show, so let's get to it. First off, Google launched "+1". It lets you annotate Google's search results and add so that you recommend them to other people. It's a lot like the Facebook "Like" button that you litter around the internet but be careful with this because adding a "+1" to things on the internet is public. Speaking of public, Google settled with the Federal Trade Commission over last year's allegations regarding Google Buzz. The company agreed to establish a comprehensive privacy program as a result. This happens in the same day they launched a very public product like "+1" which is interesting. Google also announced that Kansas City is the first city that the company will suit up with its new broadband service. Last year, Google announced that it would provide broadband that is up to 100 times faster than the current norm to one lucky city. After much pleading on behalf of municipalities across the country, the big winner is Kansas City and everyone else is jealous. I might have to just click my heels three times and go there. And Google launched an instant message program that integrates search into your chat. It's called Google Talk Guru. It lets you start up a chat session where you ask questions and get responses from an automated bot. It can do pretty straightforward searches like what's the weather today; but for more complicated things, you have to Google it yourself. In order to use this, you add the Talk Guru to your friend list. And not to be outdone by Google's new broadband system, Verizon announced that it is beeping up its internet backbone to 100 gigabyte Ethernet by the end of the second quarter of this year. This will roll out across the country in three segments: Chicago to New York, Sacramento to Los Angeles, and Minneapolis to Kansas City. The force is apparently with Lucasfilm. They will be releasing the Blue Ray edition of the Star Wars movie set 11 days early. The Blue Ray set will now come out on September 16th for $140 or $90 if you pre-order on Amazon. A 19-year-old boy beat out 1900 contestants in the Angry Birds Championship in Finland. Nokia held this competition and over 2600 people submitted. One finalist was only 6 years old. The winner was 19-year-old Jonas Koivula. He wins a title belt, a Nokia N8, and a trip for two to Hollywood. Our last bit of news today is about me.
