I am Seth Rosenblatt and in this first look I'll be showing you Zone Alarm free firewall's 2012 update which focuses on speed, speed and an easier to use interface. Zone Alarm installs much quicker than it used to be now completing in about 2 minutes. It does ask you to install the Zone Alarm tool bar and it wants to change your default search engine and home page, so watch out for those behaviors. The interface matches the re-design to Zone Alarm security suites which landed in June 2011. It's divided into 3 sections, computer, internet and identity and data. Click computer to ge access to a firewall controls as well as application control. The firewall controls let you configure general firewall behavior while application control is where you can mock about with the settings on a per program basis. Conveniently, you don't have to go back to main Window to jump to other parts of the program. Click internet here to access Zone Alarm's anti fishing protocol and identity and data to get at the credit card identity monitoring and 2 gigabytes of online storage Zone Alarm gives you for free. Like many security programs that have been around since the early 90's or even longer, Zone Alarms came long way. In a day of heavy internet use, it learn my computer behaviors very quickly and presented no repetitive pop ups, so along with speed, you get a remarkable silent firewall, that's really worth checking out.
