Get free library books on your Nook Video Transcript
Hey, I'm Sharon Vaknin for CNET.com here to show you how to get free e-books from your local library on to your Nook. First, download and install Adobe Digital Editions. It's a free program that gets library books on to your Nook. During the setup process, you'll need to authorize your computer and sign in with an Adobe account. If you don't already have one, create an ID and sign in. Plug in your Nook. ADE will ask you to authorize the device and once you do, you'll see it show up in the left side bar as a bookshelf. Now it's time to get those free e-books. Go to your public library's website and head to the e-book section. This will differ in each website but the process is still the same. Now, search for a book or browse. I'm gonna tell you now, though. The selection isn't great and you might have to get on a waiting list for the book you want, but, come on, it's free. Once you find a book that's available, click Add to Cart. Enter your library card number and download the e-book. Open the e-book file and ADE will automatically add it to your library. If opening it doesn't launch the program, right click the file and select Open With and choose Adobe Digital Editions. Once it's in your library, drag it to your Nook and it will be uploaded right away. Eject the Nook, go to your library, head to Most Recent, and your book will be right there ready for reading.
