>> Hi, I'm Josh Goldman, senior editor for CNET Reviews, and this is the Fuji Film Fine Picks S2000 HD. This is a 10 mega pixel mega zoom camera, featuring a 15 times optical zoom out in front. The camera's as easy to operate as a budget point and shoot camera. But, packed in are a lot of settings, modes and other trickery to make experimentation possible without much effort. Like most mega zooms, the S2000 HD is slightly bigger than an average compact camera, but it is well designed with a large handgrip and a rear thumb rest, and appropriately placed controls. The grip is also where you put in its four double A batteries, and a SDHC card for storage. On back, you get both an electronic viewfinder and a 2.7-inch LCD. And, per its HD monitor, the camera also captures HD video clips up to 15 minutes long at 1280 by 720, or 720P. You get full use of the optical zoom, too, which is nice because you don't see that in every point and shoot camera. We weren't all that impressed with the resulting video though. It was better than most compacts, but not good enough to make or break a purchasing decision. Photo quality was merely okay too. Photos tended to be noisy, even at low ISOs. And the noise suppression tended to make everything look a bit like an oil painting, both on screen and in prints. Overall, this is a comparatively inexpensive, nice looking, uncomplicated mega zoom digital camera. But the photo quality is just not as remarkable as the rest of the package.
