>> Hi, this is Jessica from CNET Download.com and today I'm taking a First Look at FreeMobile411. FreeMobile411 is a look-up app for mobile phones that lets you search local listings by a business name, a business type or even a person's name. You wanna type the search term first, and then you choose the listing type, then you'll enter the city and state or the zip and press search. For each search result, you will get four options. You can click to call the number, you can see it plotted on the map, you can click to get directions too or find the location or you can also click to see what else is nearby. You will also be able to browse listings by topic. For example all the gas stations in your location, the ATMs, the movie theatres too. If you can't find what you're looking for you can always press the quick link at the bottom to dial the operator, but you will be charged normal operating fees. There are a few cons with this program, as there are with most programs. In this case, I don't like so much that there aren't any favorites. You can't save your favorites and there's no predictive searching on the WAP apps, so you have to start each search fresh. That's not gonna be so much of an issue when FreeMobile411 releases the downloadable application that will include a way to save favorites and that will also include a way to search by voice, but at the time of this taping, the downloadable app is only available for about eight Sprint phones, which isn't very extensive. In the meantime, anybody with an Internet enabled phone can begin using the app by typing FreeMobile411.com into the phone's browser. I'm Jessica Dolcourt and this has been FreeMobile411.
