Hey guys welcome to Tap That App...I�m Sharon Vaknin and today I�ve got a few apps that�ll make you super smart without all that lecture stuff. Just because you�re done with school doesn�t mean you have to stop learning...so I found 3 apps that are FREE and available on the iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch. First up is TED, which is a video library of talks given by experts around the world with subjects ranging from how to listen better, computer viruses and saving the Internet, even the roles of women in industry leadership. It�s extremely addicting, mostly because these speakers have a way of making complicated subjects... like microbes and neanderthals really easy to understand. One of the best things about this app is that it lets you store videos offline so that you can still watch them without an internet connection. Just head to any video and tap �Save talk�. Now, if you�re more of the reading type, check out the Discover app by Cooliris. This app delivers a new Wikipedia article every day in a magazine-style interface. If you�re not interested in the topic of the day, just swipe down to do a general Wikipedia search, select your topic, and swipe through the article. Another cool feature lets you press any word or phrase to get a definition. If you click that definition, you�ll be taken to the corresponding Wikipedia page. In the right sidebar are related articles, and you can always swipe up to view your entire history. Now, I know parents and teachers always discouraged you from playing games during the school year...and they were probably right, but...here�s a game that�ll teach you a thing or two about physics. It�s called Paper Toss, and here�s how it works. You�ve got a ball of crumpled-up paper that you want to throw away in the wastebasket. At the same time, there�s a fan blowing across your trajectory. So you have to toss the paper farther to the left or right depending on how strong the fan is. See, it�s physics!
