>> Look at this instrument panel. It's more like something out of a concept car, but it's real and coming to a couple of Ford vehicles. Two high-res color LCDs flank the speedometer. They are what they call the SmartGauge with EcoGuide. Aside from being a mouthful, it's also an eyeful. You have one or four modes. One is Inform. That shows fuel level and battery charge. The next is Enlighten. That shows the electric vehicle mode and the tech-o-meter. Then there's Engage that adds the output power from the engine and the output power from the battery. And finally Empower. That shows the power going to the wheels, the threshold at which the gas engine is gonna kick in and power consumption by accessories. The bottom line is to coach drivers to drive their car more efficiently. In fact, the greener you drive, the more leaves and vines grow on the display. And they're also gonna offer hemp upholstery? It's coming on the 2010 Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan Hybrids. ^M00:01:07 [ Music ]
