AMD sponsored a 64-second film contest. Entrants were asked to express the concept of "waitlessness" in 64 seconds and to show off AMD's Athlon 64 X 2 dual-core processors. Here, the three winners: second place, then first place, then the grand-prize winner.
CNET's Rich DeMuro talked to movie mogul Robert Redford in New York after he announced a pilot program by the Sundance Institute and GSM Association to promote movies for mobile phones. Redford said the shorts, specifically created for mobile viewing, will debut in February 2007. Five small videos will be produced by six filmmakers, all of whom have screened films at the Sundance Film Festival. Each film will be 3 to 5 minutes long.
