Firefox add-ons Video Transcript
Welcome to CNET Top 5, where each time we meet we count down another hot CNET list. I'm Tom Merritt. The Firefox browser is excellent, but it's the add-ons that make it legendary. Wish for pretty much any browser feature, and someone can name an add-on (or plug-in as they are sometimes called) that does it. So! I conferred with the folks at Download.com, did a little research, and came up with the Top 5 Firefox Add-ons. At Number Five: Foxmarks. Perfect for anyone who uses Firefox on two machines, or even virtual machines. It keeps your bookmarks synced so that a site bookmarked on your browser at work will be added to your bookmarks on your browser at home. Coming in at Number Four: Cooliris. OK, not all that practical, but this thing is cool. It's a 3D, virtual presentation of the Web. Excellent for Flickr. Or even shopping. Up to Number Three: Tab Mix Plus. Tabs are awesome, but Tab Mix Plus makes them awesom-er. It adds the ability to have two rows of tabs, protect tabs from closing, bookmark tabs, and more. Sliding in at Number Two: Adblock Plus. This handy little program puts you in control of what ads you see. You can block ads individually, or choose from a list at certain sights. Before we get to number one, let's look at the rest of our Top 10 Add-ons.And there are plenty more. Visit download.com to research all your options. All right. Let's get to our Number One. At Number One, it's...the All-in-One Sidebar. Adding lots of add-ons can start to become troublesome. All-in-One Sidebar gets you back in control, making add-on management--as well as history, bookmarks, downloads, and other features--much easier to keep a handle on. Well, that's it for this edition of CNET Top 5. Thanks to Seth Rosenblatt, Jessica Dolcourt, and Jason Parker at download.com for their invaluable help compiling this list. I'm Tom Merritt. See you next time.
