What's the biggest problem with the Fiat 500? It's basically gutless at least by American Standards. So enter the Fiat 500 Abarth with a Turbo 1.4 L MultiAir engine. That means a 160 horsepower up from 101 and 170 foot pounds of torque. That's the same you get in the Civic Si, but it has an engine of full liter bigger and outweighs the Fiat by 500 pounds. A 5-speed manual in the Abarth and of course the sports suspension, but the cabin tech doesn't move anywhere. It's still the same just okay Blue & Me head unit, which is kind of a poor cousin to Ford Sync. Still, this car may do a lot to help out some of the rider's soft early sales of the 500.
