Favorite Top 5s Video Transcript
We?ve listed just about everything on CNET Top 5, from badly named products to great blu-ray movies...apple rumors -- Oy, the Apple rumors -- and, of course, cat videos. So as I hand this series over to the capable hands of Donald Bell, it seemed there was just one last list for me to do: Top 5 Top5?s. The ones you watched the most over the last year. ----------------- BODY #5 Apple?s Top 5 Biggest Flops. Oooff, the hate mail I got for this one. Don?t dare point at the emperors hairy, unclothed body. But yes, Apple falls on its face now and then, and this list was proof that a great company isn?t built on what it does well, but how stays unfettered by things it did not so well. And how much vodka it stirs into the Kool Aid. (Dammit, there I go again.) #4 Top 5 Tablets. Duh. Nothing is growing as fast, spreading so wide and confusing so many as the tablet market. That makes it pretty handy that the guy taking over this series is a tablet guru. You can expect a refresh on this particular list soon. #3 Top 5 Things to do with a $99 HP TouchPad. Remember what a dud that thing was until it went on fire sale? Then everyone realized I don?t care WHAT it does for $99 as long as that includes powering up, finding wi-fi, and launching a browser. HP?s biggest claims to fame in tablets will be its retreat. #2 Top 5 Reasons NOT to buy the new iPad. This one really struck a nerve as I heard from a lot of people who were on the fence about iPad 3. Better display, 4G you probably won?t sign up for and beyond that a lot of incremental upgrades. A whole bunch of you were looking for confirmation that, yes, your iPad 2 still rocks and we had no probably listing the reasons why. #1 Top 5 video of the last 12 months was Worst Named Tech Products. How could it not be! I mean, really? ...and seriously? I mean nobody does dopey names like the tech biz. Somewhere in that global confluence of engineering companies trying to be creative...and languages all over the world trying to make sense in English is a great reality series...or at least a great Top 5. For all these Top 5?s and whole bunch more that are coming, make a run over to Top5.CNET.com. I?m Brian Cooley, thanks for watching.
