Goldfrapp have released their new video for "A&E", the first single from their upcoming album SEVENTH TREE. The video's produced and directed by Andrew Duffus and features Alison Goldfrapp and Will Gregory relaxing in a dense, leafy forest.
# We started back in 1998 from the ashes of other previous hardcore/punk bands in our hometown, Jerez in South Spain. We rehearsed a lot and recorded a couple of demos. We managed to support Randy in their spanish tour of ?99 and after that Slide Chorus made us an offer to release our first album ?Proud to be nothing?. # Once the album was released we toured non - stop, and we played in every place possible in Spain, including the Islands. In summer ?00 we toured europe for the first time with our friends PPM. then, back to spain we managed to play big shows with bands like No Fun at All or Undeclinable. # In early 2001, we toured Europe again in the well known ?Stronger than Metal tour?, which led us to meet great bands on the road as the Donots, Against time or 5 days off. Later that year, we toured Spain with Adhesive and right after we flied to the Uk to rock along 10 days with Twofold. Then we played at the Deconstruction Tour in Portugal. # In June ?01, New Horizon Records released ?Proud to be nothing? in north america. In summer ?01 the band their basement to create ?The True Charm of Bourgeoisie?. We signed to Wild Punk Records to release the album in Spain. In september ?01 we went to ?Pig Studios? in Granda, Spain (same as for ?Proud to be Nothing?) and we repeated with Javi PPM as the producer. # In march ?02 we toured Canada. We did 10 shows in the states of Quebec and Ontario with a successful result. Then, in october ?02 we did a 21 dates european tour along 9 different european countries to present the latest album. It was the best tour ever for us! # In 2003 we signed to BCore Disc, and we worked hard to finally record "Dialectics" in September '03. The album was produced by Paco Loco (Australian Blonde, Steve Wynn...) at Odds Studios in El Puerto, very near our hometown Jerez. # "Dialectics" is no doubt the finest workpiece we've ever done, a very own soundfield where we feel really confortable. As always our touring plans this time are definitively serious, so watch out there!

The Hanson brothers prove that they're all grown up with this lush piano ballad. It's an impressive offering from the former boy stars for sure, driven by bittersweet harmonies and a huge chorus.
The longer versions of these tracks, featuring Jack DeJohnette and Foday Musa Suso will be available on the album by "The Ripple Effect" :"Hybrids" released October 4th 2005 on Jack's label "Golden Beams Productions".
The Project: The Ripple Effect was conceived of as a project to blend some of the elements of modern electronica/dance music with previously recorded music by Jack DeJohnette and some of his collaborators. All of the music on this album was taken from multitrack recordings. Some elements were added, sometimes overdubbed and edited, while other parts were omitted. The structure and composition were altered, but the musicality was retained. While staying true to the original?s feel, a new piece of music was created.
We believe this hybridization of styles is a part of the natural developmental flow of music. Enjoy.
The Artists: As a leader, composer and drummer, Jack DeJohnette has supported some of the most important and innovative musicians of our time, including Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Sonny Rollins, Carlos Santana, Keith Jarrett, Herbie Hancock and Pat Metheny. Foday Musa Suso is an internationally recognized kora (West African 21-stringed harp lute) virtuoso and a Mandingo griot.Born in The Gambia, Suso grew up in a society where griots function as walking libraries, singing their stories for the community while providing history, wisdom and entertainment. Suso has performed and recorded worldwide with many prominent musicians including Herbie Hancock, Philip Glass, Pharoah Sanders, Ginger Baker and Bill Laswell. Composer/multi-instrumentalist John Surman is one of the key figures in a generation of European musicians who have crucially expanded the international horizons of jazz. He is acknowledged as an improvisor of world class, and composer of a body of work which extends far beyond the normal range of the jazz repertoire. Remixer/Musician Ben Surman is involved with electronica projects including Third Zomby and Mind over Rhythm. He is also currently working on remixes for Karin Krog, Colin Walcott and various other artists. As an engineer he has worked with many artists including Herbie Hancock, Bobby McFerrin, Dave Holland, Hermeto Pascoal and Jim Hall.
Marlui Miranda is the most acclaimed and recognized performer and researcher on music from the Brazilian Indians. She has interpreted and adapted traditional chants and songs from many Brazilian Indian nations. Miranda worked with Hector Babenco in the film At Play in the Fields of the Lord. She is a recipient of several grants including a Guggenheim and the Cultural Merit Medal and has recorded and performed with leading Brazilian musicians including Milton Nascimento, Gilberto Gil, Egberto Gismonti and Nana Vasconcelos.
Producer/Engineer Big Al is best known for his work with various projects including Mind Over Rhythm, Clone Theory and Clip. His recording studio "The Sonic Kitchen" is responsible for some of the highest quality electronica and dance music to come out of the UK in the past 15 years including work with Plaid, The Black Dog, John Holt, Youth, Dennis Bovell and Zomba Records.

Teairra Mari: "Make A Girl Feel"
The newly crowned "Princess Of the Roc," Teairra Mar, wasn't even born when Eric B. and Rakim unleashed ?My Melody,? the hip-hop classic who's sample is featured in her debut single, "Make Her Feel Good." But when the 17-year-old Detroit native heard the bass-heavy gem recycled she immediately knew she had found the cornerstone of her signature sound. Teairra Mar recalls, When I heard that track, I was like, "This is the one, because it's simple but also huge." The enthusiasm that "Make Her Feel Good" set off at The Island Def Jam Music Group marked a defining moment in Teairra Mari's young career, which began at age 12 when she started recording rough demos in her cousin's basement. Despite scoring a local radio hit with one of those early songs, four years passed before Teairra Mari's demo landed on the desk of Island Def Jam Group Chairman, Antonio ?LA? Reid, who signed the then 16-year-old singer on the spot at a brief meeting where she performed live. "I couldn't believe it," she says. "I was crying because I was so happy. I feel like everyone's behind me, which is a great feeling to have coming from a time when it seemed that nobody believed in me or wanted to hear me." In the first creative collaboration since Shawn ?Jay-Z? Carter became President of Def Jam Music Group, he and LA Reid recruited hit-making songwriter, Sean Garrett (?Lose My Breath,? ?Goodies,? ?Yeah!?), to help translate Teairra Mar??s innermost thoughts and emotions into lyrics. The two successfully completed "Make Her Feel Good," a defining first single from forthcoming album scheduled to be released June 7, 2005 on Roc-A-Fella Records. "Make Her Feel Good" is just a peek into her full-length album, which she describes as a girl's dictionary. "When Sean started writing the lyrics for "Make Her Feel Good," it was because of stories I was telling him about my guy friends," explains Teairra Mari, whose musical influences and inspirations include Michael Jackson, Aretha Franklin (her grandmother sang back-up for the Queen of Soul), Prince, Sade, Patti LaBelle and Minnie Ripperton. This is just the beginning.
