>> If you're the type to leave your self little notes, doodles and audio messages all around, here's the service that may have you changing your way -- or at least adapting them. I'm Jessica Dolcourt with CNET Download.com, this is a First Look at the note-taking app called Evernote, which lets you take or read audio, photo and text notes from your desktop, Web and your mobile phone. The premise behind to Evernote is that your multimedia notes should be accessible from anywhere and automatically syncs. You can login to your account from any website or from applications for your Mac, PC, Windows Mobile or iPhone. Naturally, the rich desktop app and web apps are the best places to manage your notes and the mobile apps are great for quickly creating or accessing them especially if voice and photo notes. From the desktop, you'll be able to see, save and create new notes. There are great management tools to tag, e-mail and search for your photos. You can import notes from other programs or you can start writing a new note just by typing. You can also click the note to format your typing or you can doodle an idea. You'll also be able to paste or drag content into a note to create it. When you accumulate a lot of notes, you'll want to take advantage of the feature that lets you save common search terms to find your relevant notes faster next time. The interface is very similar from the web where you will be able to see, search and manage your notes as well. Like the desktop app, you can view your notes as a list or as thumbnails. On your mobile phone, you will be able to create new text photo and audio notes. On the iPhone, you can also upload photos from the camera roll. From Windows Mobile devices, you can upload other files from your file tree. On the iPhone however, it's easier to listen to voice notes directly from Evernote and you can also easily save notes to your favorites. Evernote applications are free, but you may choose to pay for the premium file storing service. All registered users get 40-megabytes of bandwidth for free. To get 500-megabyte of storage, you may want to upgrade to the Premium service that will cost you $5 per month or $45 for the year. We highly recommend either option for you compulsive note-takers out there. I'm Jessica Dolcourt, this is the Evernote for the desktop, web and mobile phone. ^M00:02:12 [ Music ]
