Jeff gives a spoiler-free review of "The Dark Knight Rises," plus a bunch of lesser-known facts about the Batman movie franchise on today's 404 episode.
We're finally ready to devote an entire episode to The Dark Knight Rises and Nolan's entire Batman trilogy...spoilers included. Jeff Sussman from The BatSignal Podcast joins us to discuss the ending of the film and the Easter Eggs for diehard Batfans, the evolution of the costume, Nolan's subtle homage to the comics, and how exactly Bane manages to eat while wearing that mask.
The spoiler-free review of The Amazing Spiderman headlines The 404 Show today.
We take our tech gambling show back to its roots, and come at you live from the CNET stage at CES 2012 in Las Vegas. Apple rumors abound (of course), Angry Birds has basically jumped the shark big time, and where was HTC's quad-core phone? Also, Humiliation Day!
It's our last show before the three-day weekend, so we're wrapping up with a review of the movie box office, and some new services that'll help with the cost of tickets. We're also exploring the idea of 4D movie theaters, and quizzing Wilson on another episode of Tang that Tune.
Yes, it's that time of year again for the annual Apple iPhone harvest. This time, it's the iPhone 4S, which looks a lot like the old one, but with some pretty substantial improvements. We also discuss last week's CTIA trade show where we saw several new Android handsets, and Jessica witnessed phone destruction at the hands of Nokia. We also look forward to tomorrow's triple-event extravaganza: BlackBerry DevCon, the Motorola/Verizon event in New York, and the Samsung/Google event in Hong Kong. And last but not least, we say a fond farewell to Bonnie Cha and Kent German, as they become occasional hosts instead of regular ones.
Maybe we should have used "So bad, but so good" as our show motto instead of "High Tech, Low Brow!" Today's show is a good example of that, and we kick it off with Wilson's brief and spoiler-free review of Bruno. We also talk about the rise of the Twitterns, Apple breaking the Pre-iTunes lovefest, and Jeff meeting Tony Hawk!
The final episode of "Lost" aired yesterday, but this episode is spoiler-free! However, you should know that Wilson couldn't handle the emotional scenes at the end of the episode and shed a few tears. But he also cried at the end of "Little Nicky," so don't expect too much.
404 buddy Zach comes prepared for this special 404 Yuletide episode with a bunch of lists to wrap-up the best (and worst) music, TV, and movies of the year.
As we nurse our iPhone launch day hangovers, Microsoft preps a new Xbox for store shelves, and Disney opens its vaults again for princesses on Blu-ray.
