Ep. 19: Toddler bots and blinky booze
While Jasmine's away, Donald and Eric fully nerd out with robots, robots, more robots, and vodka.
After a marathon Zune lovefest last week, Donald and Jasmine come down with...yet more talk about the Zune! Don't worry: it's just a brief update regarding the Zune HD presale, release date, capacity, and pricing. Oh, and of course we have to mention the three new colors that will be available. Then, it's on to a little third-gen iPod Touch rumor-mongering, followed by a trip down memory lane with some old-school MP3 players with tempting price tags. Finally, we have a mini in-studio rave with the iBlink headphones.
Jasmine and Donald are terribly tired of the Zune HD and iPod Touch, but there's nothing else to talk about (besides the wonders of fried food), so consider yourself warned. On the plus side, a cranky Jasmine is an entertaining one as she expounds upon the objectivity of spec-to-spec comparisons. Also up: Donald calls out some worthy Zune HD accessories, and several loyal listeners get to hear their musings read on the air.
Ep. 03: Moonbots, Velcro, and hoverboards
This week, Donald's back in the studio, joined by Eric Franklin and Dong Ngo from CNET Labs. We ponder Japan's plans to turn the moon into a playground for robots, and tackle OLED displays that roll and vanish. Dong drops some knowledge on recent hard drive innovations and a waterproof case for his Flip Ultra HD. The iPad meets Velcro. And the hoverboard makes a comeback (kinda).
Ep. 02: While the Donald's away...
Jasmine picks up the slack on Donald's sick day and gets fab producer Jason Howell and "huge" CNET Labs editor Eric Franklin to cohost the latest Crave podcast. We scoured Crave to bring only the best gems, and this week, we came up with a luxurious $15K speaker from Bowers & Wilkes, some Twitter-friendly dairy cows, a gadget porn crackdown, and the latest Japanese auto innovation . Also, no Crave podcast would be complete without a little something gross to cap it off. Tune in to find out what.
Jasmine and Donald bring the Sony X-Series Walkman into the studio for some hands-on analysis. Creative shows signs of life with an FCC filing for a new touch screen portable media player. Apple laughs all the way to the bank.
One on One: Donald Bell and the Dell Streak
Donald Bell goes toe to toe with the Dell Streak while Eric Franklin takes bets on the winner.
Ep. 55: Commander Riker's wingman
Donald and Eric receive a record number of viewer emails, with tons of great suggestions. Stephen unveils his epic intro for Eric's Geek News segment. And of course, there's no shortage of Crave-worthy gadgets to talk about, including the Sony S tablet, a Sony head-mounted display, self-inflating tires, and a fan that might eat your cat.
Ep. 156 - Zune HD under fire: the Brian Seitz interview
It's a very special MP3 Insider this week as Donald and Jasmine drag Zune marketing guru Brian Seitz kicking and screaming into the podcast studio for a good old-fashioned live grilling. Actually, Brian came willingly and proceeded to graciously answer a veritable boatload of questions from the hosts as well as the CNET Live audience. Now you can find out all you're dying to know about Zune HD music playback, WiFi integration, games, apps, availability, and more. And for those video podcast converts, we've got some up close and personal shots of the Zune HD's onscreen interface. Tune in to the longest MP3 Insider EVER for all the gory details.
Jasmine's back, and she and Donald tackle the Android-based Archos 5 Internet Media Tablet that just landed in the office--with plenty of unboxing goodness. Also, a new Cowon player is teased in Asia, and Jasmine rants uncontrollably about the sweet new Japan-only Walkmans that she's dying to get her hands on. Finally, no MP3 Insider would be complete without a sojourn into iPod Touch/Zune HD territory, which is exactly where the updated CNET Prizefight comes into play.
