The gang is back together once again and it looks like our couple weeks of calm is about to be over. Motorola has announced a September 10 event here in San Francisco to reveal its new Android products, and we think we have a pretty good idea of what we might see. Dialed In 116: MWC 2010 postmortem
Our little Dialed In family is back together once again. After enduring some technical difficulties and travel nightmares, Kent and I are back from Barcelona to join Nicole in the studio where we reflect on all the news from Mobile World Congress 2010. If there's one takeaway from the show, it's that software will play a primary role in this year's smartphones, while hardware will take a backseat. In other news, AT&T is finally getting its first Android phone and Sprint's WiMax devices are coming but not as early as some say. All this plus the latest cell phone reviews on this week's episode of Dialed In.
Dialed In Podcast 118: iPhone wishes and disses
This week we are sans Nicole, but for a very good reason: She became an official U.S. citizen today! Frankly, there hasn't been a ton of cell phone news over the past few days, but we know it's just the calm before the storm. The storm being CTIA Spring 2010. Still, Kent, Jason, and I find plenty to talk about, including our wishes for the iPhone 4G and ways Android beats the iPhone right now. Plus, we take a tour of Sony Ericsson's new user experience platform and try to answer more of your Windows Phone 7 Series questions. You can find it all here on Dialed In Episode 118.
Dialed In #180: Happy birthday, iPhone!
Four years ago a certain famous smartphone first appeared in our hands. Kent German remembers it well. The Dialed In crew also considers the hardware ins and outs of a Nokia-made Windows Phone.
It wouldn't be a week in cell phone land if the Dialed In crew didn't have a lot to talk about. And since it's been two weeks since our last show, you can bet that this episode is chock full of cell phone news and reviews. Leading off is the CNET review of the iPhone 3GS. We're still getting through the lab tests, but we've combed through the new features in depth. Meanwhile, Bonnie enthralls us with a long list of major smartphone news including Flash Player 10 beta and T-Mobile's second Google Android phone. And elsewhere in the podcast, Bonnie sighs, Kent sings, and Nicole laughs at them both.
