>> David Carnoy: I'm David Carnoy Executive Editor for CNET.com and I'm here with James Dyson's latest invention. Dyson of course is famous for his vacuum cleaners. He also makes a really good hand dryer. Those have just come out in bathrooms. You may have noticed some of those but this is the new fan. It is a bladeless fan if you can believe that. There is no blade here in the middle. The engine if you will is here in the base. They actually call this the Dyson Air Multiplier fan cause what it does is it takes air draws it here into the base and multiplies it so it's 15 times the airflow throw this amplification ring here and its quite impressive to see a fan like this that has no blades and to actually be blown by air from a bladeless fan. It's almost a neat parlor trick and it kind of works a little bit like a jet engine but the key here is that you don't have to worry about your kids putting their hands in the fan. There's also a speed dial in front that allows you to adjust the amount of air you want coming out of this thing and you can set the fan to swivel like other fans automatically swivel back and forth and you can also tilt it, very easily tilt it without worrying about it tipping over. The one big down side to this is that it is expensive. This is a 12 inch model that runs right around $330 and there is also a 10 inch model that comes in at $300. So for the latest and greatest fan you will have to pay a big premium for this but it certainly is a conversation piece. [ Background music ]
