Dynamics Card 2.0 Video Transcript

Hi, I'm Rafe Needleman at CES 2011 looking at the Dynamics Card 2.0 Electronic Computerized Credit Card. This is it. This is a Citi credit card. What's special about this card is there's a computer inside this flexible, regular, ordinary looking credit card. What's different here is that this one lets you have two different accounts in one card. You press the button, now I've got my regular credit card. I press this one and I'm using rewards points. What's cool about this is that the mag-stripe on the back, the normal credit card mag-stripe, rewrites itself depending on which button you press, so you go to a store, you wanna pay with your regular credit card, you hit this one. You wanna pay with your reward points, you hit that one. Now, the company that makes this also makes this secure version of the same thing. This is a credit card with a blank mag stripe and a blank space here where the credit card numbers would normally be. In order to activate it, you have to press a code. If you do that right, the mag-stripe activates, the number displays on the front and now you can use this as a regular credit card so if the thing gets lost, you're fine, and, again, it's just a regular credit card. You can stick it in your wallet. This is the card without any printing on it. There's a battery as you can see here. Little bit of circuitry and the button interface on the front. The company, Dynamics, can do all sorts of things, multi-account cards, protectable cards, anything that requires a little bit of security or flexibility inside the card and, again, they're just as rugged as a regular credit card, dunk them in water, put them in washing machine, bend them, and they should last. From CES 2011, I'm Rafe Needleman.
