At the DreamWorks press junket for Madagascar in San Francisco, we spoke to the visual effect supervisor of Madagascar, Philippe Gluckman, and learned about the complexities of animation within the jungle setting--from 4 million leaves on 14,000 plants to crowds of dancing lemurs.

On June 29th, 2005, Earth goes to war. From Paramount Pictures and DreamWorks Pictures comes ?War of the Worlds,? directed by Steven Spielberg and starring international superstar Tom Cruise. Music is composed by John Williams. "Creature Comforts - The Complete First Season - DVD" trailer
"Creature Comforts" is a brilliant and hilarious clay animation series about the lives of animals as told by the animals themselves. Interviews with these lovable claymation creatures leave no stone unturned, no tree unclimbed, no sea uncrossed in the quest to discover what our fine-finned, furred and feathered friends really think about the issues that are closest to their hearts. It's a "mockumentary" like none you've ever seen, and it could only come from Nick Park and the untamed minds at Aardman Animation. The DVD also includes the original "Creature Comforts", 1990 Academy Award Best Animated Short, "Bringing Creature Comforts to Life".
A butterfly collector sees the butterfly of his dreams. The only thing that stands in the way of him adding it to his collection is a pesky monkey bent on setting his butterflies free. This short film attempts to create an organic feel by mixing watercolour paintings with 3D computer animation.

During the festival of Ganesh Chaturti, the last time devotees get to see their beloved lord Ganesha is before immersion. But no one knows what happens underwater. This film is a blend of fact, myth & fantasy, which talks about the journey of an immersed image underwater. All the immersed clay images, each one with innovative iconography, get animated (indicating the presence of prana). Their energy and merrymaking finally make the God himself appear, to collect prana from all the images. This leaves inanimate clay objects, which quickly dissolve into formlessness. This formless state of clay only lasts for a short time, though. In next year's festival the prana again regains its iconic form. In this respect it replicates the cosmos itself.
Painted animations accompany this gentle instrumental track.
Animator Jay Ward brings us the speedy Tom Slick, a character from the "George of the Jungle" series in the golden '60s.
