>> If you've got a need for speed in your downloads, there are worse download helpers you could choose than Download Accelerator Plus nine. This browser companion program offers users a comprehensive toolkit for managing downloads, completing them faster, and includes extras like a built in FTP client. I'm Seth Rosenblad for CNETDownload.com, and in this First Look video we're going to be going over the basics of Download Accelerator Plus, one of the most popular download enhancement tools around. DAP's strengths lie in the wealth of options it provides. A few of the key standouts include switching between Firefox and Internet Explorer style downloading, pausing downloads, and resuming them, even after rebooting your computer, and a scheduler. DAP can integrate with all the major browsers except for Safari. One of its most popular features though is that DAP can complete downloads faster, compared to medium sized iTunes Installer download, at around sixty five megs it takes about forty five seconds to download from the internal CNET pipeline. Using DAP the same file took about twenty five seconds. DAP has a lot going for it. But one thing we could all do without are the ads. Even though it's probably heavily tied to their business model, the interface is rife with the buggers, and at least in my book, that takes the whole program down a notch. With a first look at DAP nine, I'm Seth Rosenblad for Download.com.
