>> Hi I'm Rich Brown, senior editor for CNET.com. Today we're going to talk about the Dell XPS 1. Like most other PC vendors these days Dell's finally come out with an all in one system to compete with Apple's iMac. This is a much higher end system than Apple's iMac mostly because it has a blue ray drive. You can play blue ray movies on it, it has 802 dot 11 end wireless as well as Blue Tooth so it has all the kind of modern high end multimedia features that we expect. So as you can see this is a relatively slick looking all in one. There's a twenty inch wide screen LCD, two speakers running down the sides, as well as a wireless keyboard and a wireless mouse. The keyboard has a touch pad on it which lets you sit back and control the system from a distance. Up here you'll find the obligatory all in one webcam and when we go around back you can see the standard variety of ports although it does have a TV tuner input which is actually fairly unique for an all in one. Now Dell has also added a couple features that make it easy to walk up to the system and use it. First there's a motion sensor on the front panel. You swipe it and you get a series of buttons for play control, volume, muting etcetera. You can also see whether or not there's a disc in the drive. What we also like is that Dell has what it calls a Go Dart button. You can turn down the screen and still play music and not really worry about having a computer run in your background. So between those touch features and the Blue Ray drive Dell has a fairly high end system on its hands here. The problem is that we found the performance isn't quite there for the buck so it's kind of hard to justify spending so much on a system that isn't really that.
