At less than 10mm thick, Dell's new luxury laptop is a high-end status symbol.
The Dell XPS One is outclassed as a computer by Apple's iMac, and as a home entertainment system by a recent HP, but in the weird niche of high-end, digital-media-friendly all-in-ones, the Dell XPS One gets our nod.
The high-end Dell XPS 14z is an attractive, powerful 14-inch laptop built into a 13-inch body, with plenty of configuration options, including decent graphics.
Apple's highest-end 27-inch iMac gets a welcome CPU and graphics card update that, along with its giant display, makes it even more competitive than its best-in-class model was previously. Its high overall appeal makes the absence of an HDMI input particularly glaring, but on balance we can recommend the 27-inch iMac to anyone looking for a large screen, high-end all-in-one.
This updated version of Dell's XPS One 27, with a touch screen, a new adjustable stand, and the same 2,560x1,440-pixel resolution, looks like one of the most compelling Windows 8 desktops.
Sure, it's bulky, but Dell's new XPS 15 offers more bang for the buck than most high-end laptops, combining great audio and rock-solid features into a package that could easily serve as a desktop replacement.

Dell XPS One 2710 Review
The good: The Dell XPS One 2710 boasts speedy performance and the highest screen resolution among 27-inch Windows all-in-ones.
The bad: The overly glossy screen and a limited OSD take away from the display, and the absence of Blu-ray is strange at this price.
The bottom line: The pixel-dense Dell XPS One 2710 is one of the best Windows-based all-in-ones available and, barring a new iMac, an easy high-end recommendation.
