>> Hi, I'm Eric Franklin, Assistant Labs Manager for CNET Labs and today we're looking at the Dell UltraSharp 2408WFP. Basically this is the same design as last year's model, the 2407, however this time there's an extra DVI port and an extra DisplayPort. This display has tons of connection options and one of the things we really like about it is that the connection options are very well laid out. One thing we didn't like was that there wasn't a digital audio output -- that's a very, very minor gripe. I mean, you're gonna have DVI, VGA, DisplayPort, HDMI. We have four USB ports. You have a Compact Flash card. You have an SD card reader. You're not gonna be wanting for connection options. This display performed incredibly in our labs-based DisplayMate performance test earning really high marks particularly in color and sharpness. The DVD performance of this display is pretty much second to none as far as monitors we've reviewed. What we really like about the OSD is that unlike the Gateway 2400 FHD, this OSD allows you to go into the OSD, make a change, calibrate the monitor, see if you like the change, but then close it without the OSD closing before you had a chance to really make your change. This display includes a pivot function like most of this base of its size, but one of the things we didn't like about the pivoting was that you have to rotate the display 30 degrees back before you can actually pivot or else the screen actually hits the stand. We really liked this this way. One of the things in particular we liked is the performance. It performs great across games, which tested World of WarCraft on this and looks great. If you're looking for a 24-inch entertainment display, I mean, you probably won't get anything better than this. Also, if you're looking for a large productivity monitor, this will actually do the basics really well. This display comes in at $599 from Dell. While that might seem a little bit steep, we really think it's worth the price because of the model connections you have, the performance of the display, just the overall quality and design. Compared to like the Gateway FHD2400, which costs about a hundred bucks less, I think it's a much better deal for what you're getting. It's the same size, but this is just a much higher quality design. Once again, this is Eric Franklin. This has been your first look at the Dell UltraSharp 2408WFP.
