Dell SP2309W Video Transcript
>> Eric: Hi everyone welcome back to CNET.com, I'm Eric Franklin and today we're going to take a first look at the Dell SP2309W. In my previous video we looked at the Dell S2409W and we found that it sacrificed many features to get its $300.00 price tag but the Dell SP2309W doesn't sacrifice many features at all and it only costs $20.00 more than the aforementioned Dell. This new Dell's neck is built on a hinge it actually tilts back to the point that it's facing directly up. While this is kind of a unique feature there's not much use in this kind of feature unless you have like a touch-screen, which this Dell does not. The foot stand is built on a swivel mechanism that allows the display to rotate 360 degrees around. The display also has a very large resolution of 2,048 by 1,152 which is a lot higher than most even 24 inch displays. To top it all off it has a 2 megapixel webcam located right at the top here. While the movies look good with very bright colors and deep blacks it doesn't look quite as good as what we saw on the Apple or the 2408WFP. It has great viewing angle from the sides and the top but when you view it from the bottom the display does darken a lot. The connection options include DVI, VGA, and HDMI it also has 5 USB ports, 2 downstream ports from the side here and another 2 downstream ports on the back in addition to 1 upstream port also on the back. The on-screen display or OSD is very unique, robust, and intuitive once you press the menu button you can actually see all your options on the screen. With its low price, great performance, and many, many features the Dell SP2309W is a great deal for a 23 inch monitor. Once again this is Eric Franklin and this has been the first look at the Dell SP2309W. ^M00:01:53 [ Music ]
