>> Hi, I'm Rich Brown Senior Editor for CNET.com. Today we're going to take a look at the Dell Inspiron I530-120B. Now this is a fixed configuration system and it's available only at retail. You can't go online and order the system you know with the various Dell options and as such this is a pretty basic desktop. It has a vast dual core Intel chip in it, so it will kind of plow through most applications pretty quickly, but we found it's not the best multitasker and if you spend a little bit more money you can get a faster all around computer, as well as few more features. It has a DVD burner here, a spare bay here and a media card reader and USB ports behind this door here. We actually like it a little bit better if this with other systems with a media card reader is expose on the front you know it's a little bit easier that way. You don't drop the door down, you just walk up, plug your stick in and you're good. Now you can see around back this system is just as boring. You get basic analog audio ports, an Ethernet and a VGA out. We've seen much cheaper PCs that have a wide variety of ports on a back, HDMI, eSATA. This system doesn't even have FireWire, so I think it's time for Dell to really kind of think about its mother board offerings and try to bring them up to the rest of the market here. Inside though you can see the system is fairly tight, which is good and you get a nice bit of upgrade room. You can fit a second hard drive here, you know the graphics card and the PCI Express slot in there and 1x PCI Express and standard PCI slots give you other expansion options too. So as we said the system is actually pretty fast on certain programs. If you regularly convert MP3 files or digital images then this is actually a pretty good bank for the buck here. Overall, we wish it offered a little bit more variety as far as its features. So, I'm Rich Brown and this is the Dell Inspiron I530-120B. ^M00:01:40 [ Music ]

Dell Inspiron I530-120B Review
The good: Strong single-application performance well-suited to large-batch media file conversion; respectable amount of internal upgrade room.
The bad: Multitasking performance from dual-core CPU loses out to quad-core systems that only cost a little more.
The bottom line: Dell's Inspiron I530-120B is a fine workaday desktop, but we find it could use some more excitement. It has its strengths, and its features are reasonable for its price, but we wish Dell had done more to differentiate this desktop.
