>> Hi, I'm Rich Brown Senior Editor for CNET.com. Today we're going to take a look at the Dell Inspiron I530-120B. Now this is a fixed configuration system and it's available only at retail. You can't go online and order the system you know with the various Dell options and as such this is a pretty basic desktop. It has a vast dual core Intel chip in it, so it will kind of plow through most applications pretty quickly, but we found it's not the best multitasker and if you spend a little bit more money you can get a faster all around computer, as well as few more features. It has a DVD burner here, a spare bay here and a media card reader and USB ports behind this door here. We actually like it a little bit better if this with other systems with a media card reader is expose on the front you know it's a little bit easier that way. You don't drop the door down, you just walk up, plug your stick in and you're good. Now you can see around back this system is just as boring. You get basic analog audio ports, an Ethernet and a VGA out. We've seen much cheaper PCs that have a wide variety of ports on a back, HDMI, eSATA. This system doesn't even have FireWire, so I think it's time for Dell to really kind of think about its mother board offerings and try to bring them up to the rest of the market here. Inside though you can see the system is fairly tight, which is good and you get a nice bit of upgrade room. You can fit a second hard drive here, you know the graphics card and the PCI Express slot in there and 1x PCI Express and standard PCI slots give you other expansion options too. So as we said the system is actually pretty fast on certain programs. If you regularly convert MP3 files or digital images then this is actually a pretty good bank for the buck here. Overall, we wish it offered a little bit more variety as far as its features. So, I'm Rich Brown and this is the Dell Inspiron I530-120B. ^M00:01:40 [ Music ]
Dell's 17-inch Inspiron E1705, when properly configured, is a reasonably priced strong performer that gets the job done for home users who want a large desktop replacement that can handle both multimedia and gaming.
Dell Inspiron 531Dell's new Inspiron 531 features a new, streamlined look and a solid set of mainstream features including built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. On some tests, it's even faster than systems that cost $500 more.
With its thoughtful features, Dell's charming little Inspiron Zino HD is perfectly suited to serve up HD content to your living room. We wish it had more general computing speed, and design purists will find the Mac Mini more sophisticated, but on balance we recommend it, especially to more casual home theater PC enthusiasts.
PC vendors have very few tricks remaining to differentiate their systems from the competition, which makes the built-in Bluetooth in the Dell Inspiron 530 unique. There's little else that makes this system stand out, but if you need Bluetooth in your budget desktop, we can recommend no other.
The Dell Inspiron 531, the company's newest, small-scale Windows desktop, may not offer the most bang for the buck, but it does offer more options than the competition.
Dell's first release from its new Studio line, the Studio 15, sits between the Inspiron and XPS lines and offers a good mix of features for the price.
The competitively priced Dell Inspiron 6000 delivers a very solid combination of performance, features, and design for basic home or small-office use.
Look no further than the Dell Inspiron 620 if you're interested in a mainstream PC with strong computing features housed in a case that dares to stand out in a sea of desktop conformity.
We recommend the Dell Inspiron 9200 to home users who want an awesome, relatively portable, desktop-replacement laptop with cutting-edge features and solid performance.
You can find a faster all-in-one from Lenovo for just a few more dollars, but as a general-purpose system with a strong home entertainment bend, the Dell Inspiron One 2320 is hard to beat.
