Dell Inspiron 620 Video Transcript

-Hi, I'm Rich Brown, senior editor for CNET.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at the Dell Inspiron 620. So, this is a mainstream desktop and our review unit comes around 800 bucks. It's a pretty straightforward system. Although, dell has some features on this new case that we kind of like. You'll notice right away the front of the case is bright red and Dell has a few color options you can choose from its website. You can get black as standard or pay about 30 bucks extra for one of 4 or 5 different color choices. I like the red, it's not very common. Most desktops are sort of glossy black all over these days. It has a pretty nice touch for say design oriented buyers. There's a DVD drive up here on top and here you drop this panel down. You see an SD card reader, USB slots as well as audio output. So, around at that back, you will see a pretty good set of connectivity options. You've 6 USB slots, Ethernet as well as 5.1 audio out. We probably rather have the have the 7.1 or at least digital audio output and also with our video outputs here on the motherboard ports, you actually don't need them because down here, you got the graphics card that gives you VGA, DVI and HDMI output, and you down here you got Wi-Fi antenna input. Inside, you will see the Dells are fairly system. You got the Core i3 CPU here. There's a budget AMD Radeon HD 6450 graphics card here that let you play basic games and descent image quality with nothing too intense. You got a little bit of upgrade room in the system, but not as much as we'd like to see. You get 2 free 1 XPCI express slots down here. You will right here is also 1 free hard drive. We also like the cage because it points the drives out. It makes upgrade nice and easy. Over here though, you can see there are only 2 memory slots, which makes it sort of hustle to upgrade the RAM. You have to throw out the existing sticks, which is kind of a waste and up here, the power supply is only 300 watts. That means you're pretty much stuck to the budge graphics card. So, even though it's not the best upgrade platform, this is still a pretty descent PC for its price. We like the design. It's got some nice features inside and overall we can the system. So, Rich Brown, this is the Dell Inspiron 620.
