I'm Dan Ackerman and we are here taking a look at the brand-new Dell Inspiron 23. Dell says, this is the thinnest 23-inch all-in-one ever. It certainly is very thin, partially, that's because a lot of the ports and connections are here and it's big, heavy-weighted base was also pretty hefty. The arm right here, that arm actually let you adjust the screen of reasonable amount to go down like this and up like this but more importantly turn the entire thing flat so you have almost what I called a tabletop PC, although, it's kind of lifted up from whatever desk you have it on. Why would you wanna do this? You know, board games are kind of fun this way or missing around on a map. I certainly had a lot of fun with some of the other tabletop PCs that we tried. So you may not use it like this all the time but it's cool to have that option. It's especially frustrating when some all-in-ones bend down almost that far but don't give you that full flat plane like that. More importantly, this new all-in-one from Dell as Intel's latest Haswell processor the 4th generation core I series and you can even get optional discreet graphics like we have in our test unit right here. The AMD graphics are kind of middle of the road but you can still do some basic gaming with them, which I definitely appreciate. The screen is a full 1920x1080 screen that's important even on a 23-inch monitor like this and the Inspiron 23 starts at $999. We've got a couple upgrades including a better processor and that discreet graphics card that brings you up to $1399 for this particular model. You know, for about that price and a little bit more, you can move in just some fancier brands and Inspiron Dell's XPS 27 actually starts at I think $1599. And with that, you get a super high res screen but if you build one of those out the way you'd really want it, it would be a lot more expensive. I'm Dan Ackerman and that is the Dell Inspiron 23.
Dell's higher-end Inspiron One 2305 has everything we'd look for in a dedicated home entertainment PC. Although it's not the fastest computer out there, it's capable where it counts, and even plays some games. Forgive Dell's intrusive bundled system backup software and you'll walk away with a one of the better Windows-based all-in-ones available.
Dell's Inspiron One 2330 all-in-one doesn't take any great innovative leaps, but sometimes all you need is a basic computer. This is that PC.
If you need maximum screen size at a minimum price, this basic 17-inch Dell Inspiron 17R is powerful enough for everyday tasks.
You can find a faster all-in-one from Lenovo for just a few more dollars, but as a general-purpose system with a strong home entertainment bend, the Dell Inspiron One 2320 is hard to beat.
On certain tests, Dell's off-the-shelf Inspiron 530s comes out ahead of its slim-tower competition, but its situational performance edge isn't dramatic enough to overcome its underwhelming features. You can find cheaper systems that might be a tick slower on certain tasks, but on balance they'll let you do more.
The competitively priced Dell Inspiron 6000 delivers a very solid combination of performance, features, and design for basic home or small-office use.
The Dell Inspiron 9300 packs advanced multimedia features and blazing performance for gaming and home or business applications.
A high-end Inspiron makeover combines aluminum bodies, touch screens, and new CPUs.
The Inspiron XPS is a fantastic gaming machine, but you'll need a chiropractor if you try to travel with it.
Slim and light, considering its 20-inch screen, the Flex 20 works as an all-in-one or mega-tablet.
Dell Inspiron One 2350 Review
The good: The Dell Inspiron 23 all-in-one has a very thin display, optional discrete graphics, an HDMI input, and a screen that folds all the way down like a tabletop PC.
The bad: It's expensive for something from Dell's mainstream Inspiron line and the lie-flat hinge just reminds one how inconvenient it can be to have a tabletop display permanently tethered to a power cord.
The bottom line: A handful of worthwhile unique features help the Dell Inspiron 23 all-in-one stand out among 23-inch desktops.
