>> Three weeks before the film's release, opening night tickets are already sold out. The film features 6 sequences shot totally in IMAX, marking the first time a major Hollywood film has ever been shot in the format. We got a chance to speak to Greg Foster, the President of IMAX about how Chris Nolan, the director of the film, used the technology in the movie.

>> A little fight in you. I like that.
>> We had a really successful run and partnership with Chris Nolan and, of course, Warner Brothers. We have a core relationship with Warner Brothers on Batman Begins. And Chris decided two and half, three years ago, that he wanted to do something really distinctive, really unique with The Dark Knight. He started investigating, studying, looking into how to possible shoot with IMAX cameras. The clarity and the presentation of IMAX was something that he was very attracted to. He spent a good six months to a year, really studying the IMAX process. And in fact decided that what he wanted to do was shoot these six sequences with IMAX 70 millimeter film. And that's what he did. And he designed the film to include these sequences organically in the story telling.
>> I'm very pleased with the results of the IMAX photography. It's the world's highest resolution film format. And it creates an extraordinarily immersive image on the IMAX screen, which is a colossal, many-story screen. It throws the audience right into the action in a way that no other film format could. And so for our special IMAX presentations of the film, I think is going to be a very unique experience for people to be having that.
>> Watching this movie in an IMAX theater is completely immersive. The action scenes jump right off the screen, and you feel as though you are actually chasing or being chased. ^M00:02:13 [ Car engine revving ] [ Explosions ] ^M00:02:21
