Prefuse 73: "The Class of 73 Bells"
The first single from the upcoming Prefuse 73 album features a collaboration with New York wall-of-psych band School Of Seven Bells and Battles drummer John Stanier. "Class of 73 Bells" swirls with undeniable pop melodies grounded by Prefuse’s stereo-rattling low-end.
the three boys would like to tell similar stories to their upcoming debut album "lovers", as well as tales about how the band was founded amidst a near-fatal plane crash. but they maintain that the albumtitle is just the result of a graphical typo which turned "cover" into "lovers". so it has become a tribute to their friends. the album includes the voices of frenk lebel (play the tracks of), gustav, and chris corner (sneaker pimps/iamx). the path back to classic instrumentals is led by john norman (radian) and silber "prinz" otto, two geezers from the karate joe posse. what began as an act three years ago has turned into an explosive experience with impulsive lyrics and performances. watch out for the tourdates.

In London Herbie Flowers shows us how the bass line on "Walk On The Wild Side" was recorded, creating what is one of the most famous riffs in popular music. Dave Stewart of the Eurythmics talks of Lou Reed's influence on him as a songwriter and musician. The program is illustrated throughout with archive footage of Lou Reed in concert, The Velvet Underground, Andy Warhol and the 'Factory' and features exclusive new acoustic material from Lou.
