A crystal-clear First Look at Sony's new LED TV Video Transcript
Hey guys. It's Sharon Vaknin for CNET at CES 2012, and we're taking a first look at Sony's Crystal LED display technology. Now at first glance this might look like an OLED TV but I'm telling you right here, this technology is complete different. What sets this technology apart from any other TV is that instead of using edge lighting, this TV has over 6 million red, green and blue LED lights across the screen. So what that gives us is an excellent viewing angle of up to 180 degrees along with a very fast motion response. So when you see a quick moving image, that image is gonna be clear without any blurs. Now because of those 6 million plus lights across the screen, we get the truest blacks from those lights actually turning off. Sony also says that it gives us 3-1/2 times higher contrast than any of its other televisions. Now Sony says it doesn't have any current plans to put this into commercial production, it's still focusing on its OLED technology but we should expect this kind of technology in the future. For CNET.com I'm Sharon Vaknin at CES 2012.
