Creative Labs D200 Video Transcript

>>Hi, I'm David Carnoy and I'm here with the Creative Labs D200 Bluetooth speaker. There really isn't a whole lot to this speaker. It's got a nice glossy black finish on the top. It's a bit of a fingerprint magnet but it does look good and it is compact though it has some nice heft to it. It feels well built. There's only a few buttons on the speaker. Around back you'll find a power button and a couple of volume control buttons on the front as well as a Bluetooth button that flashes blue when you hold it down and that makes the speaker discoverable to Bluetooth devices and then you would pair your Bluetooth mobile phone or other Bluetooth device to this speaker and start streaming audio to it. You have a range of about 30 feet but unlike the step-up ZiiSound D5 which costs quite a bit more. This doesn't come with any sort of Bluetooth dongle that allows you to use non-Bluetooth devices with the speaker so this is really a Bluetooth centric speaker. No iPod dock, nothing like that on the device. As for the sound quality we were pretty impressed. For a very small speaker this does deliver decent sound, it plays fairly loud, decent clarity. There's just enough bass there but it's not going to blow you away with the sound but for $150 Bluetooth speaker, it does sound pretty good and we do feel this is a better deal at this price than the step-up ZiiSound D5. However, if you do want a more iPod, iPhone Centric speaker that has a way to charge your iPhone, you may want to step up to that higher end model. I'm David Carnoy and that's the Creative Labs D200 Bluetooth speaker.

The Razer Ferox gaming speakers are supposed to amplify the sounds of your portable gaming, but despite their progressive design, we're dissatisfied with the audio quality even at midrange volumes. Creative Labs D200 wireless Bluetooth speaker Review

The good: Small speaker bar with integrated Bluetooth for wireless audio streaming; compact design ideal for shelf placement; plays bigger than its size would indicate; solid build quality; easy to move around the house.

The bad: No dock for charging iPhone or iPod; no battery option.

The bottom line: The relatively affordable--and compact--Creative D200 Bluetooth speaker offers wireless audio streaming and reasonably good sound for the money.
