>> Hey, I'm Donald Bell, senior editor for digital, audio, and MP3. And today we're taking a First Look at the Cowon D2 Plus. This is a touchscreen MP3 player from Cowon that runs around $139.00 for eight gigabytes, and $179.00 for 16 gigabytes. The player includes audio and video playback along with photos, FM radio, voice recording, text, and utilities like a flash game player and a calculator and a notepad. For the most part the D2 Plus is nearly identical to the original Cowon D2 we reviewed back in 2007, except that the price is better, the interface is nicer looking, the construction is not completely plastic, and the sound enhancement feature have been updated. It's still a little chunky, and you're not gonna get any cutting edge features on this like Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. But the D2 Plus is a great pick for anyone who really wants to squeeze the best audio quality from their music. It also has fantastic battery life, which is right around 52 hours of audio and 11 hours for video. The 2.5-inch touchscreen on here is about the some size and quality as you'd find on iPod Classic, but unlike the iPod, this guy comes with its own kickstand, and you can load up music and videos using memory cards, like SD, MMC, or SDHC cards. For CNET.com, I'm Donald Bell, giving you a First Look at the Cowon D2 Plus. ^M00:01:17 [ Music ]

Cowon D2+ (16GB, black) Review
The good: The Cowon D2+ touch-screen MP3 player offers rich sound, long battery life, and seamlessly integrated memory expansion.
The bad: There's no AAC support on the D2+, most videos require conversion, line input and video output features require extra cables, and menu scrolling can be tedious.
The bottom line: The Cowon D2+ is a sturdy little touch-screen MP3 player with flexible sound enhancement settings and useful features, but it hasn't changed much from the original version we saw in 2007.
