>> Welcome to CNET Top Five, where each time we meet we count down another hot CNET list. I'm Tom Merritt. The Consumer Electronics Association does regular surveys to find out all about you. They know about you. They know what you're up to. Well, recently they were nosing around about what tech you're putting into cars. Here's what they found out. Let's count down the top five most popular pieces of car tech. At number five, the in-dash monitor or display. This explains a lot of the driving I see. That map on your GPS is just so enticing. Then there's the parents reaching back into the back seat to look at Barney. You know where this is going. Coming in at number four, premium sound equipment. Not your stock AM, FM here, folks. We're talking high quality tunes. You know, the kind I hear thumping out of that black SUV every night around 8-ish. Up to number 3, CD multi-disc changer. Seriously? 25%. That's one in every four of you have multi-disc CD players. AUX jack, people. Thousands of tunes in your pocket. C'mon. Sliding in at number two, the car alarm. I also hear these on my street of an evening. Except, they don't go on by like the premium sound system SUV. The car alarm just keeps blaring. And blaring. And blaring. You know I heard a mocking bird imitating a car alarm once. True story. Before we get to number one, let's check in on the top rated high tech cars. Find out why they're the best at car.cnet.com. All right. Let's get to our number one, the most popular piece of car tech in all of your cars, at number it's the in dash car stereo. Yeah, that's the one I poked fun at earlier. You should have seen it coming. There's nary a car out there that doesn't feature some low quality stereo system, stock. But surprisingly, only 72% of you said you had an in dash car stereo installed. That's a lot of people without radios. Or maybe some of those are mono. Or maybe it's super geeks with roving Wi-Fi Internet-only station streaming. Actually, yes, 4% of you have that. That's it for this edition of CNET Top Five. Thanks to the CEA for providing the data.
