CNET Top 5: Best-selling products Video Transcript

Welcome to CNET Top 5, where each time we meet we countdown another hot CNET list. I'm Tom Merritt. Shopper.com keeps track of what folks are buying, and it's time once again to check in and find out just what is eating into your paycheck in these troubled economic times. And I have to say, the results are kind of surprising. Let's count down the Top 5 best-selling products. At No. 5, the Wii Fit. No surprise there. You're a health-conscious bunch. You don't need the aggravation of a gym membership. What's really surprising here is that enough of you found the elusive Wii so that you can use the Wii Fit. Coming in at No. 4, Microsoft Xbox 360. Still going strong among the CNET crowd. You know you can watch old episodes of MacGyver on the Xbox, right? (MacGyver is distributed by CBS Corp. Which is probably our parent company by the time you watch this.) Up to No. 3, the Sony Bravia KDL-46XBR4, also known as a 46-inch LCD flat-panel HDTV. It's no plasma, but it outperformed any flat-panel LCD we've tested...big spenders. Sliding in at No. 2. The Pansonic Viera TH-50PZ800U. Also known as, sigh, a 50-inch plasma. Silly model number aside, our reviewers found this one comparable to the vaunted Pioneer Kuro. So good choice. Before we get to No. 1, let's check in on the Top 5 MP3 players. Not all MP3 players are phones. And the CNET crowd loves the Zen. All right, enough of this MP3 players and TVs. Let's get to our No. 1. The top-selling gadget of all gadgets. At No. 1, It's.... You're kidding... The Samsung LN52A650. Another HDTV. It's our Editors' Choice LCD and I guess that few dollars you save over a plasma made you decide to snap it up. Three HDTVs topping the list this time! Unheard of. I guess economic times aren't as tough as I thought. At least for some of you. It must be that upcoming digital TV transition. (Coming February 17, 2009). Well That's it for this edition of CNET Top 5. You can see the most popular gadgets in all categories at CNET's shopper.com I'm Tom Merritt. See you next time.
