Hello, everyone! I?m Molly Wood and welcome to the CNET Mailbag, the show where we happily endure the slings and arrows of user feedback, in the name of entertainment. Let?s begin this week with some of your snail mail! I got a great postcard from Roberto in Japan, who wanted to let me know that I COULD have bought an HP Mini 1000 Vivienne Tam edition netbook in Japan for about a hundred dollars less than I paid for mine! He probably didn?t know, when he wrote this, that not only did I overpay for Viv, but her hard drive died after two months of use. So. That?s not his fault. But thanks for letting me know anyway. Roberto. Grrrr. In happier mail, Jon wrote to thank us for sending him a CNET sticker, and says, ?as a show of my gratitude, I have enclosed a sticker from my work, Space Systems/Loral. We make satellites. Now you can say you know an actual ?rocket scientist.?? Awesome! Thank you, Jon! I got a sticker, I got a sticker ? Ok, on to your programming questions. Ashe says: I was just wondering what happened to Editor's Office Hours? I liked this show, even though I understand it might be difficult/time consuming to produce. The show really gave alot of in-depth information about each topic which isn't usually as well covered in most of the product review videos on the site. Also, the format of the show often allowed for us to get to know some of the lesser known staff around CNET, which was an added plus. Yes, Ashe, Editors Office Hours is on hiatus. BUT, we haven?t given up on the concept, and stay tuned, because we?ve got a lot of live, interactive content coming your way soon! Moving on, Ken says: Dear Molly - please ask the CnetTV production staff to refund their money and DROP that Honda Ridgeline commerc1al with the little doggie putting the tennis ball into the machine! It runs between every second or third CnetTV segment - and even on my medium-speed-DSL connection it takes FOREVER to load!!! We got a lot of complaints about that ad, mainly because it was accidentally encoded REALLY BIG, and it was not playing well on people?s computers. But it should be fixed now, and that?s what happened. Accident! Ahrettew writes in to say: message: I would love to have cnet.com as an application on my iPod touch! Is anyone working on that? You have great information! Well, we don?t have ALL of CNET available as an iPhone or iPod Touch app, but I like that idea. But we did just launch a TV.com iPhone app that lets you watch CBS shows and clips, and videos from CNET TV. So, check that out, and I?ll get someone working on the CNET app. Genius idea! Now, last week, fans fought back over PrizeFight and iPod connectors, and this week, Betty keeps the fight alive. She says, ?you are wrong.? u said the ipod went firewire then usb then dock connector? well that is wrong.. it was firewire to dock connecter (which had usb + firewire) then they dropped the firewire part and just kept usb please reasearch what u going to try and say and prove someone wrong cause then you will be right and people like me wont respond with comments Well, where?s the fun in that? Betty? In other hilariously anal news, Jonathan says: Today (3/4/09), I was watching Loaded and saw the second Sprint March Madness ad. WHAT THE HELL?! The narrator said "...and the alphabet will be reduced to four letters: NCAA." Are you kidding me? Does Sprint marketing not know that "A" is the same letter as "A"? Ironically, March 4th is the unofficial National Grammar Day. Oh, man. That?s ? embarrassing. And kind of awesome. Thanks for the note, Jonathan. And finally, a compliment, of sorts, for Tom Merritt. ?That?s Really Wicker? says: I'm not a huge Tom Merritt fan, in fact, I've actually sent emails that can be construed as Merritt hate mail/vauge threats. That is, until he helped me with a little problem. You see, I accidentally wiped clean one of my hard drives and the 500 GBs of porn on it. I was obviously crushed - losing porn is like the death of a family pet. That's when I remembered the video that Tom did about recovering deleted files on a hard drive. I followed his instructions, and VOILA! I got most of the porn back. So instead of threatening bodily harm on Tom, I'd like to say: Thank you for helping me recover my precious, precious porn Tom Merritt. I'll drink a 40 oz. bottle of malt liquor and dedicate the song, "No One Like You" by the Scorpions in you honor. Glad we could help, dude. And that?s it for today?s show! Keep the feedback coming! Email me at Mailbag@cnet.com, or send your snail mail to 235 2nd St., San Francisco, CA, 94105. Thanks for watching, everyone.
