Hey, guys! I'm Sharon Vaknin for cnet.com with a quick tip on how to clean your digital camera. Because of the way lenses are built, even one speck of dust can ruin an entire photo. So, today I'll show you how to clean your lens for flawless photos and how to clean your LCD display. Before we get started, you want to pick a basic camera cleaning kit from your local electronic store. Look for one that contains a blower brush or you can use compressed air like this. You also need some lens cleaning solution and a tissue or microfiber cloth. Now that your supplies are in order, let's start with the camera lens. First of all, don't ever blow on the lens with your mouth. It's tempting but the acid in your breath can damage the coding on the lens. Instead, use a small blower brush or compressed air to remove dust and debris from the lens. Now, put one or two drops of lens cleaning solution on a microfiber cloth and wipe the lens in a circular motion from the inside out. Or, you can use one of these carbon-based PANs instead and do the same thing, cleaning in a circular motion. Now that your lens is clean, let's sparkle up the LCD screen. Just grab a microfiber cloth and wipe away any dust or smudges or dampen it lightly for more stubborn dirt. Finally, give the body of your camera a good wipe down and enjoy flawless photos and a well-kept camera. Do this every couple photo sessions and keep the microfiber cloth or len's come in handy when you're out in the field.
