As an all new wireless router from Cisco, the Valet Plus promises a completely new premium experience for home users when it comes to wireless networking.
The Cisco Linksys E3000 is the first advanced router that's also easy to use for novices. It provides great wireless performance and a good set of useful networking features. Its mediocre NAS performance and limited guest networking feature, however, make it significantly less than perfect.
The Linksys E4200 v2 makes a great upgrade to the original version and an excellent investment for those who need a fast, feature-rich, advanced, yet easy-to-use router for the home or even a small business.
The Linksys WRT54GS is especially well suited for networks with both 802.11g and 802.11b connections.
The Linksys Range Plus wireless router WRT110 is an intriguing and unconventional idea for wireless routers that comes true, in terms of both design and features.
The Cisco Linksys E2000 Advanced Wireless-N Router is the fastest router we've seen in both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz bands and will definitely make home users happy with its easy-to-use setup software. Advanced users, however, might find its desktop software and Web interface combination a little disjointed.
The Linksys WRT400N Simultaneous Dual-N Band Wireless Router is a good option for your wireless network, thanks to its support of both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz bands, its helpful software application, and a good set of networking features. The router's unimpressive 5Ghz throughput speed and lack of Gigabit and USB support are the only major knocks against it.33568803
The Linksys Dual-Band Wireless-N Gigabit Router WRT320N forces you to pick either the 2.4GHz or the 5GHz band for your wireless network. Given that, it's not an ideal choice for an environment with both types of wireless clients. The router offers good wireless performance and features a high-speed wired network that caps at 1,000Mbps.
Bearing the same compact and sleek design, the Linksys N Ultra RangePlus Router WRT310N is a major upgrade to the Linksys RangePlus WRT110 with added support for Gigabit Ethernet and Draft N 2.0 specification.
Linksys' first true dual-band wireless router that comes in a full package with Gigabit ethernet, Draft N 2.0, built-in NAS function and a name that's incredibly hard to say.
Cisco Connect Cloud Review
The good: The Cisco Connect Cloud is arguably one of the best, if not the best firmware and interface platform for home routers. It supports third-party apps, you can manage home networks and appliances via the Internet from any connected device, and it shows the potential for a completely connected home.
The bad: The Cisco Connect Cloud's special QoS feature, called Media Prioritization, is currently limited to only three devices or services, and its USB storage feature doesn't support media streaming to mobile devices. Currently there are only a few supported home appliances.
The bottom line: Cisco Connect Cloud changes the way people interact with a home network and revolutionizes what a wireless router can do without overwhelming even the most novice user.
