Cheap, smart Vizio 32-inch TV a great buy Video Transcript
-Hi. I'm David Katzmaier with CNET. I'm standing with the Vizio E320i-A0, that mouthful denotes Vizio's cheapest smart TV yet. This set is an LED-based LCD 32 inches, it's only available in 1 size but it's really inexpensive about the same price of lot of the other 32 inch TVs out there that don't have smart TV. I'm gonna start off with a first that you see about this TV however that is the styling. I really like it, it's got a really thin bezel around the edge. A lot of that is because it's in LED-based TV, now it's not the Edge-Lit LED that you've seen in the last couple of years, so if you look at it from the side, it's still a little bit fatter but of course most people watched TV from the front and from that angle, it's really a sleek looking television. The features set on this TV is again dominated by smart TV, Vizio frozen wifi so you don't have to hook a cable to this thing and our testing wifi worked pretty darn well. The interface is a little bit more dated than a lot of your smart TVs suites out there but who cares on such a cheap TV? Response time is pretty good and the best part is the excellent content selection a Vizio has Amazon, Netflix, Vudu-- pretty much everything you'd expect from a smart TV. So all its hold really nice value added especially on a TV, again it's this cheap. Vizio does also throw in plenty of adjustments on this TV, you can play around of the grayscale, there's also a bunch of different pictures presets although names like basketball and football might be able to [unk] 'cause they don't actually improve the picture quality of those sports but same time it's nice to have them there. Input selections on this Vizio is pretty standard, there's 2 HDMI with component video, there's no PC input analog however so if you have an older PC, you won't be able to hook it up this TV but of course PC's can't connect via digital with HDMI. The mode on this set is also remarkable. There's dedicated buttons for Netflix and Amazon in addition to the one called MGO which is active. Ergonomics however not as good with so many other remote we've tested. With all these features and such a cheap price, you might think Vizio cuts some corners with picture quality but that's really not the case it actually compares very well against some of the better 32 inch TV we've tested. Black labels are nice and dark and in bright areas you do get really good color accuracy so skin tones looked true. On the other hand in dark areas, you do see some black shadow detail and the blue tinge kicks in with a vengeance but all total is one of the better performing cheap 32 inch TV we've tested. Vizio E320i-A0 Review
The good: The Vizio E320i-A0 32-inch LED-based LCD TV is a superb value, bringing Smart TV and solid picture quality in the same price range as many small TVs with neither. The Smart content selection is excellent and responsiveness was very good. Image-quality highlights include relatively deep black levels and good color. With its thin bezel, the set has a more compact, sleeker look than competitors.
The bad: The Vizio's picture falls short of some entry-level TVs', with subpar shadow detail, and shows some discoloration in dark areas. Its Smart TV interface design seems a bit dated.
The bottom line: For people seeking integrated Smart features, the Vizio E320i-A0 is the strongest value we've seen yet among 32-inch TVs.
