Canton Movie 150 QX Video Transcript

>> Jeff: Hey everyone what's going on, I'm Jeff Bakalar for CNET.com today we're checking out the Canton Movie 150QX speaker system. Now the 150QX is a 5.1 satellite speaker and subwoofer combination system that actually performed quite well in all of the audio tests we ran through it despite its rather plane styling. Now Canton offers a step-down model called the 120 we did like that as well however we definitely recommend the step-up 150 for its overall better audio performance. Now as you can see the flat black matte plastic finish isn't really something you're gonna want to write home about but because the performance of the system is so solid we're able to look past that. Now these four satellite speakers in front of me here feature 1 inch aluminum tweeters with 4 inch woofers while the center speaker flanks the 1 inch tweeter with a pair of 4 inch woofers. Now setting up the system with our receiver was easy and we're actually very happy with the subwoofer blend we're able to achieve. Now whether it's music or movies you should be pretty happy with the powerful results that you get from such a small physical system. I'm Jeff Bakalar and this has been the Canton Movie 150QX. ^E00:01:19

Canton Movie 150 QX (black) Review

The good: High-performance, six-piece satellite/subwoofer system; excellent sound quality on music and movies for a small system; compact, two-way satellites; 120-watt, 8-inch powered subwoofer.

The bad: Drab styling, plastic cabinet satellites.

The bottom line: The Canton Movie 150 QX sounds terrific with movies and music, despite its plain-Jane style.
