>> Hi, I'm Josh Goldman, senior editor for CNET Reviews and this chubby camera is the 12 megapixel Cannon Power Shot D10. Its bubble body keeps the camera safe from cold, as low as 14 degrees Fahrenheit, from drops up to 4 feet and from water damage down to depths of 33 feet. With the waterproofing, comes dust protection too. While it's not the best design for an everyday pocket camera, it's the best for use in the sand, surf, and snow. At each of the four corners there are strap mounts so you can quickly secure the camera and if you're willing to invest in another 100 dollars, you can get an accessory kit with a case, shoulder strap and neck case, carabineer strap and 3 faceplates to change out this blue on front. All the controls are nice and big, making them easy to press with gloves on or in the water. Everything else about the D10 is pretty standard point and shoot, with a 3X lens in front and a 2 and a half inch LCD on back and auto and scene modes for shooting. Photo quality and performance were better than most of the rugged cameras we've tested too. The D10 is probably the best option for a rugged point and shoot camera if you spend a lot of time snorkeling, skiing or pool side, but its design doesn't lend itself very well to other situations. I'm Josh Goldman, that's the Cannon Power Shoot D10. ^M00:01:25 [ Music ]

Canon PowerShot D10 Review
The good: Excellent photo quality; comfortable to use in water or with gloves.
The bad: Poor design for an everyday camera, expensive for an occasional camera; kind of ugly; mixed performance.
The bottom line: It might not look quite right, but the PowerShot D10 is a solid entry into rugged cameras for Canon.
