>> Hi. I'm Josh Goldman, senior editor for CNET Reviews, and this is the Canon PowerShot A2000 IS. It's a 10-megapixel camera, designed for easy snapshots and, though it's compact, it's not very ultra-slim or very lightweight. The A2000's most distinctive feature is its 6X zoom lens, and through IS in its name means it has image stabilization to help with camera movement. At first glance, it might look like the camera is loaded with features, but in fact, it isn't. Canon just chose to stick some of the more popular scene modes, like portrait, landscape, and indoors up on the mode dial so you don't have to go into the menu system. But even when you do go into the setting menus, you won't find much there. For a sub-$200.00 camera, the A2000 takes excellent photos, though, with especially good color, and it does reasonably well in low light conditions. However, typical of its class, the A2000 performs a bit slow. I'm Josh Goldman, and that's the Canon PowerShot A2000 IS. ^M00:01:09 [ Music ]

Canon PowerShot A2000 IS Review
The good: Excellent photo quality for the money; 6x zoom; simple operation.
The bad: Limited controls; slow performance.
The bottom line: The Canon PowerShot A2000 IS is lean on features beyond its stabilized 6x zoom lens, but it takes great photos and is easy to use.
