Either I'm Josh Goldman senior editor with CNET and this is a look at the Canon PowerShot -- 528. -- It's an adorable ultra compact camera packing 812 -- and -- in a very tiny body. I've now to make -- so small -- switched to -- hard to handle micro SD card for storage. And a small battery with disappointing battery life. I -- also squished the controls on back and made them very small making it somewhat difficult to take advantage of all the cameras shooting options. Which are plentiful. Photo quality is good to very muted but overall disappointing compared with passed a test model else. Even at its lowest ISO settings objects in the very soft and noisy at larger sizes. And it also gets noticeably worse at -- above iso 400. So not the greatest in low light. Now the quality still slightly better than a Smart phone's camera as is its shooting performance so. If you're just looking to do better paying your phone and what a tiny cute camera with a -- lanes and don't mind paying extra for it. -- -- And if -- got another fifty dollars and would like built in Wi-Fi for photo sharing and back up. Look for the -- 530 HS. I for the money you also get a touch screen which at times is just as frustrating uses tiny buttons on the -- -- But that it does make it a little easier for passwords and such. The good: The Canon PowerShot Elph 520 HS is a good-looking camera that's remarkably compact for its 12x zoom lens.
The bad: The 520 HS' button layout takes some adjusting to, its battery life is relatively short, and its photo and movie quality are disappointing given the camera's price tag.
The bottom line: The Canon PowerShot Elph 520 HS is a good choice for those already happy with their smartphone's photos and movie clips, but looking for a cute little camera with a long zoom and faster performance.
