And today we're taking a first look at Cam Frog, a chat ware program that lets you communicate with both friends and perfect strangers using whatever method you or they prefer. Creating an account is the first step. Cam Frog's registration page does require you to fill out your martial status and what kind of people you're interested in talking to, but you can check off nobody so there's no confusion about your antisocial tendencies on this social networking program. That automatically takes you to the log in page. Hit sign on and you're ready to go. The main interface has tabs for contacts and favorite chat rooms as well as links for adding contacts, searching for Cam Frog users and video chat rooms. Let's jump into the madness and join the main chat room. Whoa, a bit loud if you've got your speakers on. The volume control is on the right side, just below the users list. Mousing over the users list you can see the age, gender and video cam status of each user. Clicking on one opens up their video window. If you don't have a web cam, you can text chat in the main window. It's one of the most international hang outs I've ever seen and it's not uncommon to see Farsi or Thai scroll by along with English. At the bottom of the main chat window is a link to the video chat room directory page. Every room functions the same way as the main chat room, but they focus on different interests. Learning guitar, def video chat and so on. Be warned parents, Cam Frog also has several adults only chats. The chat rooms aren't the only chaotic thing in Cam Frog. The interface is made up of many different windows. One for you cam, one for the cam of the person you're talking to, one for the main interface, one for the chat room. With so many different people, from so many different backgrounds all communicating in one place on the Internet, using so many different technologies, video and text and audio, Cam Frog can be a very cool place to land.
