>> Hi I'm John Falcone, senior editor at CNET.com and this is the Cambridge Sound Works Radio 735I. It's an update of the radio 730 and what Cambridge did is when the head and threw in a external iPod dock. The dock itself is pretty straightforward, it's a little disappointing that its external instead of built in to the actual top of the unit, but what good is that it has a video outputs so you can actually watch all of your iPod -based videos. It does offer RDS radio data service. It also has dual alarms and it has a really flexible snooze, alarm and sleep system. We were a little disappointed that the front panel is still kind of cluttered and confusing, all of these extra buttons on each side, they are all the identical circle shape. You can use the included credit card remote which sits in here in the dock when it's not in use. The one volume knob is good and it can also be toggled with the jog button to control several other functions. Sound quality, generally really good, we really like the sound of the previous Cambridge model and this one is pretty much identical and that's a good thing because it still sounds great. The big drawback here is that it's pretty expensive and there's not much else in here besides AM/FM and iPod compatibility. This is the Cambridge Sound Works Radio 735I. I'm John Falcone for CNET. ^M00:01:41 [ Music ]

Cambridge SoundWorks Radio 735i (white) Review
The good: High-end tabletop clock radio with external iPod dock; dual alarms with unusually flexible snooze/volume options and battery backup; auxiliary line-in for connection to non-iPod devices; supports iPod video output; RDS text support; superior sound quality and FM reception (for a tabletop radio); includes bass, treble, and tone controls; 24 station presets.
The bad: Expensive, especially considering its lack of CD, HD Radio, and satellite radio support; remote and front panel controls could be more intuitively arranged; iPod dock is a separate module, not integrated into the main unit.
The bottom line: The Cambridge SoundWorks Radio 735i adds iPod support to this sweet-sounding tabletop radio, but you'll need to look elsewhere in Cambridge's product line for HD Radio and CD playback.
