>> Hey what's going on everyone, I'm Jeff Bakalar for CNET.com. Today we are checking out the Boston Acoustics CS2310 Speaker System. Now the CS2310 is a 5.1 speaker and subwoofer combination system that provides a very clear and detailed sound that's also available in black or cherry like the model you see here. The system speaker and subwoofer are among the larger ones we've tested, so if space is a bit concern over yours, you might want to look elsewhere for smaller speaker system. Each speaker utilizes a mid-bass driver along with a1-inch soft-dome tweeter, while the center speaker features a pair of the mid-bass drivers surrounding the tweeter. The CS2310 perform well during our testing, but definitely struggled with a few music and movie sessions. Overall, it's sort of felt like the system was underpowered at times. You might want to look elsewhere if you are looking for a much larger, more powerful home theater set-up. We probably only recommend this system for a small to medium listening room. I'm Jeff Bakalar, and this has been the Boston Acoustic CS2310. ^M00:01:10 [ Music ]

Boston Acoustics CS2310B (black) Review

The good: Compact, 5.1-channel, home theater speaker package; five two-way satellites matched with a large, 10-inch, powered subwoofer; clear, detailed sound.

The bad: Only basic subwoofer connectivity options; feels underpowered at higher-volume levels.

The bottom line: Highly detailed sound is the key strength of Boston Acoustics' CS2310 system, but it lacks the muscle to make home theater come alive.
