Welcome to CNET Top 5, where each time we meet, we count down another hot CNET list. I'm Tom Merritt. It's time once again to take a look at the cream of the tech crop. Of the gear we've reviewed over the past three months, these are the very best as rated by our crack staff of CNET reviewers. So...let's count 'em down. At No. 5, the Energy Take Classic. For about $400, you get a beautiful set of 5.1- channel speakers and an outstanding 8-inch 200-watt powered subwoofer. The only negative is you can't buy an extra speaker and make it 6 or 7.1. But we still gave it an 8.5 out of 10. Coming in at No. 4, the Audeo PFE 122 Perfect Fit earphones. Jasmine France points out that the bass may not have enough thumping for some people, but other than that, these comfortable earbuds have great sound quality. And they come with or without a headset microphone. They're 130-150 bucks and Jasmine gave them an 8.5 Up to No. 3, the Mirage Nanosat 5.1. A little pricier than the Energy Take. OK, twice the price, but room-filling sound that Steve Guttenberg called "remarkably spacious." You can also get extra satellite speakers if you want. We gave 'em an 8.6 out of ten. Sliding in at No. 2, the Samsung P3 media player. Bluetooth, touch-screen, widgets, FM radio, voice recording and more. It notably lacks Wi-Fi, but the sound quality more than made up for that. Jasmine France gave it an 8.7 Before we get to No. 1, time for another Lame Prize! Tell us what the top-rated video game from Gamespot was for this same three-- month period. Hint, it got a 9.5 And you could get a copy of Mass Effect, a 2008 Pi joke wall calendar. And a CNET patch. Post your answer to the entry for this top 5 at our blog, blog.cnettv.com All right. Let's get to our No. 1. The best product we reviewed over the past three months At No. 1, it's... The Zoom H4n. This is a portable recorder that Donald Bell absolutely raves about. Quality stereo mics, phantom-power, four channels. What's not to love? Bulky, awkward minijack input and weird mixer settings. But that's not bad enough to stop Donald from giving it an 8.7 though. Well That's it for this edition of CNET Top 5. Don't forget to be one of the first 10 people to correctly tell us what the top-rated Game over the past three months was at blog.cnettv.com. And you could win, the lame prizes. Thanks for watching. I'm Tom Merritt. See you next time.
