Welcome to CNET Top 5, where each time we meet we count down another hot CNET list. I'm Tom Merritt. CNET's bread and butter is product reviews. We have a staff of highly-talented editors who spend their days and nights living and breathing cell phones, digital cameras, and such, so that you can make the right choice when you buy one. Let's take a look at what they've reviewed over the past few months and count down the Top 5 best products. At No. 5, the Belkin FlyThru checkpoint-friendly laptop case. A good laptop bag can really make your life easier, especially at the airport. This one is a little skimpy on pockets, but well makes up for it by the fact that you don't have to pull your laptop out when you go through security. Coming in at No. 4, The Westone 3 True-Fit earphones. If you don't mind paying three or four hundred dollars for a good pair of earphones, you're nuts. But Jasmine France says these are apparently worth it. And they're durable. They better be at that price. Up to No. 3, the Canon EOS 5D Mark II. This is a top-of-the line dSLR that made even our own camera reviewer Lori Grunin say nice things like "such a great value," and "works very well," and even "it's really good." Hey that's high praise from Lori. The 5D Mark II also does video, but it doesn't have a built-in wireless controller. Nothing is perfect. Sliding in at number 2. The Maingear Ephex. It's the most expensive desktop we've reviewed at just around $8,800. But for that money you get triple-SLI 3D cards, so you can keep this monster for while before you feel the pinch in performance. And the thing set records for application and game performance. Before we get to No. 1, let's take a look at the rest of the Top 10 top-rated products. I actually need a good backup drive. All right. Let's get to our No. 1. The top-rated piece of technology on the CNET site reviewed within the last three months. At No. 1, it's... The Nvidia GeForece GTX 295. If an $8,800 desktop is too rich for your blood in these troubled times, maybe you can plunk five benjamins down for a new graphics card. Best single-card 3D performance, more power efficient, though still a power hog, DVI and HDMI out, and PhysX support for a few extra bells and whistles. Well done Nvidia. Well That's it for this edition of CNET Top 5. You can find more information on these and many other products at CNET.com. I'm Tom Merritt. See you next time.
