Best products of the summer Video Transcript

Welcome to CNET Top 5, where each time we meet, we count down another hot CNET list. I'm Tom Merritt. It's been three months since we counted down the best products, and we've seen some pretty big-name releases, like the Palm Pre and the iPhone 3GS. But are they the best of the summer, according to CNET reviews? I'll give you a hint. NO! Let's count down the Top 5 best products of the summer. At No. 5, The Sonos Bundle BU250. An Editors' Choice carrying a lofty 8.7 out of 10 (4 stars out of 5). Want the best multiroom digital audio system that you can control with your iPhone? This is it. Coming in at No. 4, The Panasonic TC-PV10 series of plasmas. It boasts the best picture of any TV we've seen this year. And it has Internet connectivity, all the rage in TVs these days. Another Editors' Choice rated 8.7 (also 4 stars out of 5). The user reviews nudged it just barely ahead of the Sonos. Up to No. 3, The LG BD390 Blu-ray player. This thing is packed with features including Netflix, YouTube, and the ability to play movies off USB. It also plays Blu-ray with excellent image quality. Too bad it costs as much as a PS3 or it might have got an even higher rating than 8.8. Sliding in at No. 2, Windows 7. Granted it's not officially out until October, but the release to manufacturing version blew us away. Of course, the rating could go up or down when the official release happens in the fall. But for now, it's a 9.0 (4.5 stars). Before we get to No. 1, it's time for another lame prize. And it has to be a product right? So how about an actual vintage CNET USB thumbdrive. Heres' the question. Sometimes we have two products with the exact same rating. To break the tie, we first look for an Editors' Choice award, and then use the user rating. One other product had an 8.7, but lost out to Sonos and Panasonic. What was it? Be one of the first 10 people to answer correctly at blog.cnettv.com, and you could win the CNET thumb drive. All right. Let's get to our No. 1. The best product reviewed this summer by CNET reviewers. At No. 1, it's... The Klipsch Image S4 earphones. Exceptional sound quality. Very comfortable. And only 80 bucks. Sure that may sound like a lot for earbuds, but these sound as good as ones you'd pay twice as much for, according to CNET editor Jasmine France. They're also an Editors' Choice with 4.5 stars, helping them nudge out Windows 7 for the top spot. Well That's it for this edition of CNET Top 5. Don't forget to answer our lame prize question at blog.cnettv.com for a chance to win the CNET thumb drive. I'm Tom Merritt. See you next time.
