>> Hi, I'm David Katzmaier senior editor at CNET.com and this is the BenQ W10000. This is BenQ's 1080P's DLP front projector. It's currently their top of the line model now and it's one of the least expensive models in that category. You'll notice this projector is not quite as stylish as a lot of others we've reviewed recently in fact it's kind of a big white box here. A little bit of silver accent along the top. But if you're going to mount this projector on the ceiling, which is definitely with a high end projector, something we strongly recommend, it might just blend in to that white ceiling relatively well. Of course the front here is a big intake grills and there's a nice center mounted lens, again we do prefer the lens mounted in the center just to ease installation a little bit. The zoom and focus controls on this projector are a hundred percent electronic, actually you can stand back in the back and make all those adjustments and not have to worry about reaching up to the lens which is kind of a nice bonus. When we took the BenQ into the lab we were very impressed by its picture quality for a projector in this price range of course we do expect pretty good performance but again it was extremely good, almost as good as some of the even more expensive 1080P projectors out there. Anyway that's a quick look at the BenQ W10000 and I'm David Katzmaier. ^M00:01:19 [ Music ]

BenQ W10000 Review

The good: Accurate color; solid feature package for setup and optimization; 1080p resolution for sharp, crisp images; clean video processing.

The bad: Somewhat limited connectivity with only one HDMI input; CMS (Color Management System) system needs refinement.

The bottom line: BenQ's W10000 delivers excellent performance for a 1080p 1-chip DLP projector, especially considering its relatively low price.
